N+ Review by Link584
"N+ is the console and handheld version of the Adobe Flash-powered game, N, which was developed by Metanet Software. N+ for Xbox Live Arcade was developed by Slick Entertainment and published by Metanet Software. Unique versions of the game were also ported separately to the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS by developers SilverBirch Studios and Atari. Metanet Software licensed their N IP for this deal, provided single player level design for both versions, and consulted on the project." -wikipedia

Design
What originally started as a flash developed game made it’s appearance on several platforms. When you look at this game you can tell it of it’s flash origins just by how it looks, but that isn’t a bad thing. It looks clean and smooth which is exactly what you want from a downloadable title. The game is a sidescroller-esque game with a white background and black terrain you jump around on. This gives focus solely to the gameplay element and easy to identify your colorful enemies.

Gameplay / Controls
As mentioned above the game is sidescroller like. Levels consists of 5 quick “maps” that are on one screen you can move around, some small some large. You jump around from surface to surface to guide a Ninja to the exit door. Along your path you might need to find the key to open the door, avoid missiles, turrets, and other things. During this you also are racing against time. You have a gauge at the top that is shared among all 5 “maps” that complete the level. You can gain additional time by collecting gold pieces in the maps. So let’s break it down. You are a ninja who is trying to get through the exit. Simple as that, with just some additional things along the way. The game is hardly simple though. Enemies kill you in one hit, and even with infinite lives given to you, you will yourself restarting some maps over and over and over as the difficulty increases. Thankfully the controls are simple, move and jump, and they respond very well and so strategy and timing are your only concerns. This is a real platforming game that is addicting and takes a lot of patience some nights. It is very satisfying to complete those hard levels before bed, finally able to sleep as be proud of what you accomplished.

Music
The music is just there, very repetitive and I won’t say much more then that. This game is great in short bursts so it’s not a bad thing that it repeats because it wasn’t mean for long periods of gameplay, but it’s high addictive quality of gameplay may prove otherwise.

Presentation
I pretty much covered most of this in the paragraphs above but overall this is a very well put together package. A fun simple game that casual and video game elites can enjoy on the side when needing a break from other games or only have a few minutes on their hands, or are in need of a good fun challenge. It’s a great deal and replay value is there if you wish to master better times or challenge your friends. There is even an online mode but I did not explore this aspect of it.

Conclusion
This downloadable title gets a firm 4. I give it a 4 because it is a fun great game. If you are looking for something to have on the side that will keep you entertained for your moneys worth, I suggest you give it a try. Go watch a trailer to see more of what this game is like as pictures don't do enough for it. If you love gaming and a real challenge at times, I dare you to complete this game level by level.
